About

Ren Jiang (they/them) is a Chinese writer, performer, and theatre/filmmaker based on unceded Gadigal and Bidjigal lands (so-called Sydney, Australia).
Their writing has been featured by the Australian Poetry Journal, un Projects, Cordite Poetry Review, and more. Their stage works have been developed at the Melbourne Theatre Company, and shown at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
They have been a poetry editor for Voiceworks magazine, and a 2022 Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow. They have recently completed a Masters of Arts Screen
at the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School (AFTRS), specialising in Screenwriting.
Their research and writing practice deal with cultural and religious superstitions, listening to ghosts, anthropomorphism, reincarnation, and how all this might be used as queer method. You can find out more about their projects here, read some of their writing here, and reach out to them here.
